Things To Note When Replacing Your Mobile Device

For everyone that uses remote access it is important to be aware that if you replace your mobile phone you will have to submit a ticket to have your 2-factor authentication reset. This will require that you submit a ticket to IT, and then I will submit a ticket to ProviDyn requesting they reset it. Once they reset it, you will be able to sign into remote access and it will then walk you through the steps to setup up the Google Authenticator app on your new phone. This process does take time, so please plan accordingly! It is entirely possible that it could take a full day to reset it. In the mean time you can use the backup codes that you saved when you first setup 2-factor authentication. You may want to be sure they are accessible to you in the event that your replace your phone or the Google Authenticator app gets deleted or corrupted. Also note, that backing up your phone prior to replacing it will not preserve the Google Authenticator setup. You will still have to set it up as a new app.

Also, you will need to submit a ticket to have your mobile email setup on the new device. You can go through the steps yourself to sign into the mobile app, but it will be quarantined until IT releases it.
